Welcome to SHAPE-Utah

Eighty-eight percent of voting UAHPERD members voted on 19 March 2016 to change our name to SHAPE-Utah, which goes along with the national association's change a couple of years ago to SHAPE-America. SHAPE is an acronym for Society of Health And Physical Educators. It will take several months to make the changes necessary to our professional association. Please be patient during this transition. And, please feel free to contact us with any and all suggestions.

2016-2017 Priorities

  • Work together to enhance programs throughout Utah
    • Involve everyone that wishes to be involved (as much or little as desired)
    • Active presence throughout the State of Utah
  • ​Improve communication with all stakeholders
    • ​Update website
    • Accurate contact information for all members and stakeholders
  • Update Association Bylaws and Constitution to reflect name change and other changes
  • Educate administrators to help them hire the best qualified applicants.
  • Increase the number of quality Elementary PE Programs in Utah

2017 Conference Theme: Unite to Elevate!

  • Conference will be held in February 2017 (actual date & place to be determined asap)
  • Conference will be held in Utah County - likely Orem
  • Please give me feedback regarding conference dtails:
    • Do you prefer a Saturday and/or a weekday?
    • Any suggestions for a preferred location? (I'd like to hold it at a middle school or high school with a couple of gymnasiums and classrooms for sessions, and where we can bring in our own food (rather than be forced to use a university's on campus foodservices)
    • Any other suggestions?
